I’m partial to a whist drive
At the Sports and Social Club.
I like to meet the kids from school,
They give my ears a rub.
I’ve ushered at a wedding,
And I loved the church bazaar.
I swaggered in my ginger coat -
“Attention please! I’m here.”
I’m known around the playing field,
I like the Antiques Fair.
I’m best kept well away from roads,
And all the traffic there.
At prayer you know, I’m C of E,
The churchyard is my heaven.
